‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ is an amazing film, it’s beautiful, emotional and is certainly one of the best films of 2008. The only draw back to this film is it’s length, long movies turn people away and I have a feeling it will happen with this movie. With a run time of just over three hours I can see that being intimidating to certain people. It’s long but it’s so worth every minute of it. Its epic, it feels like a complete story from start to finish. Not once did I find myself at all bored with the film.

Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett each do equally superb and award-worthy performances. This is a movie will make you tear up during many scenes, it’s that touching. The makeup and aging affects are handled perfectly, the stars actually look believably aged which sometimes isn’t handled well in movies at all. Here, they nailed it. I could go on much more (and will in a later post) but for right now I’ll just say that this film lived up to everything I wanted it to be and more, which is something that rarely happens. See ‘Benjamin Button’, it’s something not to be missed.

totally agree. i saw this last nite and it was pretty amazing. cate blanchett has never looked more stunning. the aging was incredible! the young benjamin looked like the brad pitt of thelma and louise.

Anthony Bourdain ate a dozen or more dishes based on Spam in this clip from his Hawaii episode. The Spam Sushi was his favorite.

…a great year for me. 8 is my lucky number and i take my lucky number very seriously. It started out hopeful, turned to horrible, and then things started to look up. Seemed like i might get a fresh start just before the new year arrived. well i did sort of. because of all the shit that went down in 2008 and some of my past a totally amazing girl thinks it would be better if we went our separate ways. this would be fine if we hadn’t fallen in love first. i can’t let go. we’ve come to far and it’s time to suck it up, communicate, and tough this relationship out - even though its only lasted for a month and a half.
